Like you, I built Tom Daniel models when I was younger and had given it up for the last 20 years. Also like you, I’ve recently begun building again and have in mind a series of dioramas featuring Tom’s show cars in a dilapidated state (showing their and our age!). I’m in the process of acquiring all of the currently released kits (Dragon Wagon, Tijuana Taxi, Red Baron, T’rantula, Rommel’s Rod, and Ice ‘T’) and hope to pick up your Beer and Paddy Wagons today. DB - I, too, wish I’d started back sooner. Poor eyesight and aching hands were never a problem before! I took you up on your generous offer and purchased both kits. They were already reasonably priced, but with free shipping thrown in, how could I refuse :-) I’m currently working on a resin kit (my first) of the Orion from 2001: A Space Odyssey, but I’m chomping at the bit to begin the Tom Daniel dioramas. Again, thanks for your kindness and for making this blog. Lastly, I think it’s great that your daughter is helping you paint your models. She’s doing a fantastic job!

I stumbled across Tom’s site some time ago and have been tempted to pick up one or two of his t-shirts but never have. My size keeps selling out! I’m surprised no one has bid on your Cherry Bomb kit. I would, but I’m still in the process of picking up tools so I’ll need to save for them instead. One suggestion for your site: you may want to flesh out the Model Building Tips and Instruction Help section a bit ;-)

I have communicated with Revell/Monogram as well and they should have a list of TD kits they are going to re-issue in October. Cherry Bomb actually sold later today. Michael - Not too disappointed with the price. I have a book that I use that values the kits so it was in the ballpark. You are right though, I wished it would have got driven up in bidding.
DB - The kits arrived today! What an amazing packing job you did. You’re a true pro. Now I just have to decide which kit to build first. Thanks for everything!
