This wild design based on the "traveling medicine man" of an earlier age may be my favorite kit of all. The skeleton holding the sickle and the steer skull on the front end always make me laugh. My daughter did the majority of the painting. In one of the photos below, you can see she added a hint of red to the eyes of both skeletons. Super cool design and the purple base color is perfect.
This kit is a close second to Bad Medicine. Paddy Wagon is the first kit I saw my Dad ever make and it has always stuck with me. The whole notion of the traditional Paddy Wagon rolling down the street as a show rod seems to resonate with people. My daughter did the intricate painting on this one. The anniversary figures really add to the overall feel and appearance of the model. The picture was taken in front of a Lego city my son made. The scale is just about right.
Rommel's Rod by Tom Daniel
I never had a big desire to build Rommel's Rod. However, when it is built it looks pretty cool. Must be the skeleton crew with the Desert Fox himself in the back seat. Since he spent some time in the Egyption desert I painted the wheels black and gold to give it that pharroh tomb feel. Went black on the seat back - didn't like the brown. Anyway. a good build overall with a lot of opportunity to ad lib.
Stinger by Tom Daniel
Stinger is the poor man's Trick T. There is no mention of this kit on the TD web site so I am not sure on the history of this model although it is obvious it came from the bones of Trick T. I did not like the man in "white" so I went with the flat black couch instead. The brown and orange combo is a little odd but I ran with it. The engine behind the driver's seat is cool though.
Garbage Truck by Tom DanielTD was called in at the last minute to finish this design and indicated a Garbage Truck would not have been one pf his choices. My son always loved trash trucks so I made it for him and he chose the color scheme. Not a great build, but it wasn't about me anyway. He did not like the figures (the rock band) so they did not make the final cut. If I do it again, will do more with the surf boards. First picture taken on top of our "green recycle" can.
T'Rantula by Tom DanielThis is one of Mr. Daniel's top creations. The only thing I don't like is the radiator piece that attaches to the body. Other than that, this model design is perfect. My daughter (who did most of the painting) and I went with a black widow theme. I attached the spider to the roof along with the web decal just to give it a special kick. The black and red in the engine area lends itself to the black widow theme. This kit is a great build if you are just starting out.
Cop - Out by Tom Daniel
This is a detailed build that looks best with the body in the open position. I painted the engine yellow (which is not in the directions) to make it stand out. Overall a good look particularly with the clear coat on the black. Black always looks good on cars. There is a "Where's Waldo" moment with this car as it is missing a piece - see if you can find it.
